It is so hard to describe how I feel about otterbutt leaving. She and I have had such a great friendship over the last five years. I do know that she is on quite an adventure. I am proud of her for making such a grand acheivement. In fact, the best thing to have learned is that life throws you things that aren't always your top pick and it's what you do and how you survive that not only makes life more exciting, but more honest.
Le Menu de Guilte
Grilled Fingerling Potatoes
Asparagus with olive oil
Sauteed Mushrooms
New York Steak
Herb Grilled Shrimp
Opus One
Fresh Blueberry Pie
It is the chef I will miss the most. The improvisational master in the kitchen. The masterful hand at chopping and peeling. The finite rules of cleaning each dish. The smell of her kitchen.
These things do not travel in mail, email or blog.
I will have to go to her.

Yes, no one throws a party like the Otter Butt family (you are included in this, of course). We will miss all the fine aspects of her personality that cannot be translated over distance.
We wait, impatiently, for her next appearance.
You will have to come. Soon. I am starving.
