Baci

After a late work meeting, I went to Baci last night and was excited to see a new special menu. I ordered the ahi - which was nice and made better with the addition of brussels. Baby vegetables are so thrilling. It was served atop a plasticky polenta which could have been much tastier and creamier. I also tasted the chicken piccata which is reliable and had a hint of depth. The cambazola appetizer is the best thing on the menu as it comes with an entire head of roasted garlic. We began with Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay (too spendy) and then on to reliable Kendall Jackson. Not too bad of a pair with the fish and the chicken.

Tonight I am planning on a special dinner with Nikki. We may do one our favorites, Napa Cabbage Pasta. Something that incorporates cauliflower and pancetta with napa cabbage and a little heat. Or, I might take a trip to Snider's and see what they have that looks good. Sadly, I am in the mood for pork chops and I'm sure that I was seven the last time I had them. Pork chops are not very popular in our semi kosher/no nuts or salmon/i'm on a diet and like cheesesteaks house.

Work was ridiculous yesterday. What do you get when you put six car dealers together vying to woo a winner into picking their car? You get a car dealer who bribes the winner with cash. Lovely. I love america.

I am addicted to Sleeper Cell on Showtime and would suggest taking the day and watching the first season today. I have so much more knowledge about Muslims. Although I don't understand it (faith mostly) I do understand those that choose to fight against America and our self-imposed grandeur.

I do understand their hatred, particularly when I realize that South Dakota is trying to change how our country deals with abortion. Abortions are banned - even in cases of rape or insest. This is not a good day.
