Hitchhikers Guide to Free Room and Board

One thing I have always loved about Husband is that he is genuinely trusting. So, when he called me last night and said honey I picked up a hitchhiker on my way back from Moab and he's coming to stay with us, I said oh.

Yes, we have two small children.

Yes, I was worried.

Yes, I cooked them dinner and made up the bed.

His name was Wil and he is from England. I am all for the wanderlust spirit, but I am not so sure that I am comfortable with strangers. We watched a little tv "Flipper" and I played SUDUKO (my new obsession). I thought, well, this is pretty darn american of us. What should he do while he's in SL,UT? I had no ideas. The Mountains. Sure are purdy. He just stood on I70 for two hours so I was pretty sure he was allright with boredom. This just might be the place.

I took his backpack and water jug into our guest room. Took all of the clothes, sheets, rags, and teddy bears off the bed and turned the nightlight on so he could be comfortable. Heck, free beer, dinner and semi-clean sheets. Better than a hostel anyday.

I'm chalking this up as charity. My giving soul.

You and Husband are some kind of international guardian angels. This definitely takes care of some of those bad karma points you were talking about lo those many weeks ago. I think you're good for a few!

Wow! Wil with one 'L.' No wonder you wanted me to read blog instead of talk about it at mom's birthday party. Still--super kind. I believe Dr. Write's right in saying that the good is good.

I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that this will keep the karma fairies happy for a bit.

I have also started calling QVC by her name.

Good is good!
