Advent Calendar

So we dug out the calendar. I would post a picture of it but I'm sure Otterbutt and Kendall-Jackson prefer the memory of the red fuzzy chocolate heaven of our past than that which lives today.

It has a count down until the day of Christmas... but my kids are really just counting down until Zoe arrives. It is 3 days in counting until they see her and Lily is about ready to jump right out of her skin!!

It doesn't have chocolate in it - exactly. It has a homemade marker (thanks to cameron) that moves from day to day indicating how close it is until Zoe arrives in the kingdom of salt. With pretty much the same exuberance the catholics have for baby jesus' arrival. They are even writing songs!

Songs that go mostly like "merry christmas to you , you live in a zoo, when zoe gets here we will all go to zoo lights"

(imagine jazz hands)

That is some pretty excited excitement. We are containing ourselves here only by copious amounts of markers and counting ourselves.

Oh and we have a store-bought advent calendar that Zoe wakes up and brings to me first thing. She opens the doors and then gets really excited to see what the chocolate shape is and what the window reveals. And then she hands me the candy. She doesn't really like chocolate she shrugs.
